Walter Frederick “Fritz” Mondale died Monday, April 19, at the age of 93.

He was the 42nd vice president of the United States of America under PresidentJimmy Carterfrom 1977 to 1981.

He also was a U.S. senator and ran for president in 1984, ultimately losing toRonald Reagan.
